BÁNH KHOAI LANG NƯỚNG TỰ CHẾ (Home-made sweet potato cake)


This cake is really simple and easy to find the ingredients. Use your weekend to do it!

Ingredients:
Original recipe makes 5 pieces of cake
- 1 sweet potato
- 1 cup of flour
- 2 tablespoon of sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- 6 tablespoon butter, cut into pieces

Directions:

- Clean the sweet potato, boil until softly cooked. Drain the sweet potato and mash it. Leave it in refrigerator an hour.
- Heat the oven.
- In a big bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, butter well and smoothly. In another bowl, mix the sweet potato with butter. Then mix 2 bowl together well.



- Pour the dough on a table and knead lightly. If the dough is too sticky, add a bit more flour. Adjust the dough to have 1cm thick. Use a ring to cut the dough into circle pieces. Have the dough onto a tray cover with butter.
- Collect the residual dough, continue knead and cut as above. Spread some butter on top of the cakes and bake in 20-25mins.


If you want, you can mix ½ cup of butter and stir with 2-3 teaspoon syrup, spread on top of the cakes to have more colorful and flavorful.
